First Meet, at Gainsborough May 27!!

Hi Stingrays, 

We have our first swim meet of the season Tuesday evening at Gainsborough against Briarwood! We are excited!!! 

MEET THEME: Red, White and Blue, all swimmers, parents and coaches are encouraged to wear red white and blue, hats, bandanas, socks, tee shorts

ARRIVAL: Please arrive by 4:15pm. Our warmups are at 4:30pm, Briiarwood at 5:00 pm and the meet starts promptly at 5:30pm. 

PARKING: Please follow our parking guides and park your cars in the grassy area , not on the street in front of the grassy area -

There is a drop off area in the paved parking lot for physically challenged, grandparents or those needing extra time. There may not be parking but you will be able to drop off in the lot. 

When arriving at the meet

  • Athletes Check-in with the coaches and Get their one Team Swim Cap from Coaches - write your name in it -- you get one free and after that they are $5 
  • Find the team area in the tables near the clubhouse. 
  • Get your swimmer marked up if they aren't already. 
  • Swimmers 7 and over should checkout with Katie or Annie if leaving before free relays. 

Things to bring: T

  • Team Suit (if you have one- or a blue competitive suit) Your team shirt ( if you have not gotten yours, they will be someone in the team area to hand them out) PUT YOUR NAME on the shirt, there will be 100 others with their shirts. 
  • Goggles, extra pair if you have them (no need for fins) Two or more towels, dry clothes 
  • Quiet activities like playing cards, drawing or games. 
  • Snacks, something for dinner, water and or Money for concessions - there will be Zaxby sandwiches and burgers, we take ca$h and credit card 

Things to know about the meet

  • The Heat Sheet and Athlete list will be finalized and sent out Monday May 26, once scratches are finalized. 
  • Please print out the Heat Sheet to follow the meet. 
  • Athlete Check in allows you to see what your swimmer is swimming and you can already see the individual events in the swimtopia app. 
  • Please try to mark your swimmer before arriving at the meet. It will help . especially 6U, 7/8, 9/10 and 11 & 12 with their Event, Heat and Lane and stroke as in the picture below. There will be coaches on hand to assist if you need help,

  • Parents are responsible for keeping track of your swimmer and making sure they get to the bullpen 4-5 events before each race. From there the bullpen volunteers and coaches will make sure they get to their race. 
  • Lots of concessions (zaxbys, snacks, candy, drinks). Cash, venmo only.
